Multi fuel burner removal

We have an inherited burner in our lounge which we want to remove and have a gas fire fitted.
We are struggling to figure out how to remove the stove pipe.
It is a 5kw stove so not huge but the pipe is solid in place.

The pipes will have been sealed using fire proof 'paste' - plus the added problem of expansion ad rust means the pipework is usually very tight. This is often overcome by a sharp tap (or twelve) using a hammer, breaking the joint enough to see even minimal movement should be enough for you to lever it apart.

If all else fails then a cutting disk in an angle grinder WILL move it!

With the worrrying lack off gas storage in this country the last thing I'd be thinking of is removal but he ho.
Still seeing as you want to remove it I'd go with KE's advice and use the angle grinder to cut the pipe. That will have the advantage of allowing the fire to be removed without damage and thus sold on.

While it may seem fairly easy to remove the stove, I would strongly recommend it is removed by a qualified professional. This would ensure that all loose ends are literally tied-up, see the stove removed without any damage and avoid any potential structural issues.
