Drop links faulty?

Post by Jamiechap2018 »

Hi

I have had this clicking noise when turning slowly/stationary and also when braking. I've been under and had a tug on the drop links and n/s one makes a similar noise to what I'm hearing inside the car. Is it possible for them click when turning or would it be just when going up and down? Im not sure if they actually turn with the wheels or not! Total novice when it comes to cars! Took a photo of the offender as well, only had them changed 5 months ago, they were lemforder from euro car parts. Thanks

what year and car ?? I take it you did both sides when you changed them if not that's the cause of it failing

Clicking when turning would be the CV/driveshaft, find a clear car park turn on full lock it both directions going 5-10 mph

roll bar bushes and steering rack issues have similar symptoms, you need it up in the air and a pry bar

Yeah they were changed both at the same time, it clicks up until around 5 mph and doesn't when over that speed. It also clicks when the front of the car dips slightly when braking and when it lifts when accelerating, which is what made me think more spring, shock or drop links? It's an 09 zafira petrol

Also.if I turn the steering wheel fast it doesn't click and also after it has rained it doesn't click either!!!
