down light problem

down light problem

i have just tried to replace my hallway light with 3 down lights all conected together, when i put the fuse back in and switched the lights on, bingo they work but now i have no lights to the rest of the down stairs or to the landing upstairs but the bedrooms all work.
help what have i done wrong?

no sorry that didnt help, i have cannected all the live wires together in 1 terminal block, all the neutrals exept 1 in another terminal block and all the earths in another block, yhen connected the switched live and the spare neutral to my new fitting, the new fitting works but i still have problems with the other lights

If all the lights were working before the downlighters were fitted then it is more than likely that there is a bad connection on one of the circuit wires and it's very likely that it is one of the connections for the downlighters. Unless one of the circuit wires has been pulled and it has become disconnected at the next light in the circuit.

hi me again, just thought i would let you know that my lighting problem is now fixed. it turns out that i had a faulty light fitting, i took them back to the shop and replaced them and now everything works again.
