orange broadband

Post by handyman »

having problems with the connection. Its either the bt line, or their broadband network. Look up their customer services numbers, one is 5p a min, but this is for you to buy more stuff off them. The number for them to fix their fault is 50p a min and is staffed by people i cant understand (their accent)

The same 50p a min is charged to pay as you go customers, i would have expected better when you pay monthy.

You phone the cheaper number and the monkeys just give you other numbers and give you the run around, as they dont want to deal with the problem (3 times)

So annoyed with it, I'm going to phone up and cancel the contract, pay the rest up, and move to someone else.

o2 now have mobile contract customer specials of £7 pm, and they have very good customer service with the mobile (Iinfact the best customer service i have ever recieved from any company, and on par with dm-tools), so mabye better with broadband as well.

The only problem i have had with it is when my computer has updated something.
Some how you can take your computer back in time, and restore settings from last week or month... might be worth a quik try.
No idea how to do it though. Mrs H does it normally

It is such a rip off to have to pay for a premium line call to tell a supplier that THEY have a problem :cussing:
I used to be with Toucan and at the start their tech support was a free call and then they switched to this 50p a min type supoort.

With BT Broadband now and all their support calls are freefone (still got people with funny accents, but at least you are not paying when you ask them to repeat themselves)
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman, "Where's the self-help section?"
She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

you got it correct hoovie...........you have to pay 50p pm to tell them it their fault :angryfire: phoned last night to cancel, and they said they would look into it now! Its working this morning

http://broadband.o2.co.uk/packages.jsp going to get the £7.50 package with o2, its a 0800 support line, and if its anything like their mobile phone support, should be A+ service.

Contract with orange finishes io june, so if it goes down again, will pay up and move, if not will wait till then, then move
