Hello,

I would like to share with you a timelapse showing construction of a bunk bed for my son.
My father decided to build a construction based on his own idea and schematic.

Really cool, I like it. I can't watch the video fully (I'm at work ), what technique are you using to join the timbers? Dowel/Domino ?

I am wanting to create a much simpler bunk later this year.

Nowt wrong with pocket screws in most situations mate using glue as well.

I was a bit concerned that the four corner posts were not meaty enough. Okay I guess for small kids but not so good when they get older.

Looks good though, I am not sure if it is demountable as it would be a shame to break it up to either move or sell in the future.

The weight is distributed fairly on 6 posts, not 4 - solid wood, base of a square with dimensions 45x45 mm.
My wife (55 kg) can easily climb the bed and read the books with our son on higher bed :)

All elements are fully demountable, moreover - the ship prows are attached in a way that you can easily make bed longer if needed and reattach them.

Yep, they have their uses but not sure I'd trust pocket holes on a bunk bed as I've seen a few youtubers do.
