Makita DSS611Z 18V LXT Lithium Ion 165mm Circular Saw

Post by Argyll »

I can't recall how much I paid for my DeWalt cordless but sure it was almost double this. This seems a cracking deal. https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre ... 1194161148

A further 15% off using code PERCENT15

which is only from certain sellers.

That equates to about £89 nett, and there are other sellers (e.g. powertoolmate) on there at that price without the discount. And that's about right anyway, I paid £90 in October 2017.

Ok no worries. I didn't realise the price of these things. They've certainly came down in price.

This is an older model, prefectly good though, it's the one that I have.
It's been replaced by the DHS680Z Brushless version.

I might have seen something like this on offer from FFX (usual email). Sorry I did not pay much attention but it sounded cheap.

EDIT. Nope, not on an FFX email, maybe a very similar offer on line.

I wouldn't necessarily say "replaced" - the model is still very much in production. Maybe supplemented because since the BSS610/BSS611 were the only models from Makita they've been joined by right hand blade models, brushless models, 2 x 18 volt 190mm versions, etc, Still see lots of guys out there using them

One ting I didn't mention is that the DSS611 has less overhang on the base plate to the left of the blade, so it can get in tighter to the wall on some cuts (about 5mm). Not needed all that often, I know, but sometimes very handy
