Perspex sheet to tiles

Post by bgatty68 »

Hi guys I’m putting a Perspex sheet over wall tiles and wondered if anyone could recommend a non solvent adhesive to use as I know on most adhesives it says one of the surfaces must be porous?? Please help

We had to do the same in a rental property and the adhesive was supplied as part of the deal and it was similar to this https://www.toolstation.com/soudal-fix- ... 0ml/p84704
It is quite thick to squeeze out so you will need a decent caulking gun like this https://www.toolstation.com/cox-powerfl ... gun/p66651
And don’t be mean with the adhesive!!
And for what it’s worth , 2 tips
1. Measure twice ( at least ) and cut once
2. Offer the panels up for a dry fit before applying adhesive

Coz if it had been clear or translucent then the sealants linked to above would have shown through.

I try to be thorough

Should be, personally I'd use CT1 or Geocel the works (Both available in clear) but those are just my prefered adhesives.

If you have concerns about the adhesive showing through ( it shouldn’t ) then use something like this

https://www.toolstation.com/sticks-like-290ml/p98810

And the data sheet

I really would just recommend a bog standard silicone for this. It sticks well to tiles and perspex but could be removed if you needed to in the future without damage.
