Drywall dimpler?

What is a drywall dimpler used for? New to me! Never heard of it before. :scratch:

They're to stop drywall screws going to far into the plasterboard and ripping the paper surface

Thanks for that. My oh has not damaged the plasterboard and he didn't use one, not essential kit then if you're careful!

I've got a box of them, tried them once and couldn't be bothered with them. I can see the point of them if you are using a drill/driver due to the speed of drill but I found an impact driver better gives a more secure fixing and with the slower speed its more controllable so reduces the risk of sinking screw head too deep.
