Shed roof leaking

Hi.

To cut a long story short... waters coming in through the felt where ive fixed It down, it's a very shallow roof and tends to puddle in places and drips on the very bottom of the roof.

I've ummed and argghed about putting a new roof on, only recently felted and looks spot on but still finding it's way through.

My conclusion is to get a decent roof repair like Bostik Flexacryl to paint the nails which I'm presuming is the problem.

Is this product any good or is there better?

A round about answer to your question. I am on the second roof on my shed. For that I did
1 coat of underlay nailed on.
1 coat of underlay glued on (the glue was some black stuff like tar in 5lt tins from wickes).
1 coat of thick mineral (green stuff) thing glued on as above.
So far so good!

In other words I do not have a clue about what you are asking but wanted to tell you a story

Both my sheds have quality mineral felt, held down with clout nails and neither have given this problem; after more than 10 years, I just put another layer on top with new longer clouts.

Mines has been leaking for around a year now. One of the many jobs I need to do in the spring.

It's the pitch, it's like 4 degrees; causes puddles then through the nails it goes.

My point was ... how not to have nails. Been there done that, who knows how many felts had been on my shed to the point where the nails would not grip on the wood. Also, with nails you should be looking for capillary action where the water goes up from a joint further down than the nail.

I really don't know what is the stuff you were suggesting to use as a coat over the nails, but if the top layer is bitumen felt with with sand and whatever else that is on it, it is designed for "things" not to stick to it. I tried silicone over the nails on my first re-felting of my shed, the silicone lifted in no time. Second time, I bit the bullet and tried to do as good as possible a job in one go.

One of the roofing repairs with fibres in it should be a solution. Two other options are a large umbrella or put up a tent over it!

Just to update; I went with the Thompson emergency roof repair and it worked a treat, great stuff.
