Replacement 2-gang

Post by botty1963 »

Hi folks. I am planning to replace all the switches in our house which is roughly 30 years old, and I believe that the switches have been in from new. Although it was 35 years ago I did complete an electrical apprenticeship so have over the years replaced lights and the odd switch, socket, I fully understand about isolating. However, I do have a couple of 2-gang switches that need replacing and looking at the connectors (see image) I can't work out what modern equivalent I would need. Could anyone please advise, and how would the connections from my current switches transpose across? Any help would be appreciated.

Above are my opinions Below is my signature.

Would you hit a nail with a shoe because you don't have a hammer? of course not, then why work on anything electrical without a means of testing Click Here to buy a "tester" just because it works, does NOT mean it is safe.

Pretty much what S-e said but the replacement switch will almost certainly be marked differently. Note how the left hand side controls one light and the right hand side the other
