Re-wiring old wall scone to a 3 pin plug

Hi everyone

Hoping you can help for what would seem to be a simple task.

I have an old wall sconces with two lamps that I want to re-wire to regular lamp switch and plug. I’ve attached a picture. 3 questions

1. There is a live, and neutral wire coming from each of the lamps on the sconce, plus the earth. Total of 5 wires. What do I need to use to combine these so I can just run 1 lamp chord? Is there some sort of connection you can buy to take two of the same wire down to one?

2. This seems like it should be relatively straight forward? Is there anything to watch out for?

I guess really it depends on how you are mounting the light afterwards.

The theory of the wiring is simple, lives together, neutrals together and earth on it's own. Doesn't look like you have an awful lot of room to play with though. Wago connectors would be great for this but they are pretty bulky. Terminal (chocolate) blocks are smaller, especially the low amp ones but they aren't terribly secure.

So what's the plan for it afterwards?

The plan is to mount it on the wall afterwards.

There’s a little bit of room behind the sconce but yeah not a huge amount.

1. neutrals together - into the connector/ terminal block
2. Lives together then into the connector / terminal block
3. Earth on it’s own into the connector / terminal block
4. Connect power in the other corresponding sides
Of the terminal block / connector ?

If that will all fit safely and the connections are secure then yes.

How does it mount to the wall with no screw holes or mounts it looks like something is missing

Yup!!! well spotted. There would have been a metal loop(?) parallel to the horizontal level. There appear to be welding signs of such a missing loop at 5 past 12, and 35 to the hour as see the photo, and they are consistent with being on the horizontal level. Then it would be hung on the wall with something like on the photo below.

You can’t see from the photos but there is a metal loop to hang it on.
