Grass trimmer/ strimmer recommendation

Post by KSProperty »

Hello. Want to purchase a strimmer just for garden. Dont need nowt special but i don't want flymo brand.
As a joiner im a fan of makita power tools they seem to be reliable and have found a makita 450w 28cm strimmer for £55 and i thought that would be great choice but then read some good reviews for black and decker and ryobi so thrown spanner into tye works.

I think i best get 240v corded not wanting to spend more on cordless. And i dont need to go to a petrol because its only small garden and dont need the big beast of petrol

Any suggestions

Thanks

I bought a Titan cordless on offer from Screwfix a couple of years back
I'm surprised how good it is for doing the bits I don't want to get the petrol one out for.
Very handy.

Chez has got a video on the Dewalt one here

I have Makita one. Mainly because I have some other Makita battery powered tools , this shares the batteries , does the job not super heavy duty but ok for my needs, lawn edging and trimming around walls and such like.

I bought Bosch 23Sl corded cheap but powerful and effective,it was 3-4 years ago, less than £40, I have 30m reel cable and together it's an effortless job for the lawn edges.

Ive gone for the makita UR3000 £55 ffx
I did have a brief spell of considering cordless but seeing as i haven't got a compatible battery set it would cost a lot to setbit all up for sake of once or twice a yesr strimming weeds.

I also did consider ryobi 600w but that was £65 and bigger and again probably too much for occasional use. Didnt want flymo and i dont know what i think to black and decker as a brand. At least i know makita tend to be top notch stuff.

Regard bosch. I seem over the years to have mixed feelings about them and just cant get on with them. I can remember buying a Bosch lawnmower and selling it on at a loss.
