damp patch on floor

i took up the old floor ages ago' there was some old vynal tiles that had cracked were the gripper was' i levelled then floor around were' there was gap' its all dry bar 1 bit' i noticed white salts' it did seem to dry out' then may habe back with all the rain' not sure' its dry on the skirting and wall' its 2 bricks below dpc outside' bar needs a bit of pointing' it seemed to come the patch after i levelled' with ardex

its prob been like it 6 months' got no worse' just feels bit damper after rain'

concrete floor 50 yr old house'

the levelling was touching the skirting which now moved' and a load of paper at the back

seems to be drying slowly, very slowly, some one said mabye condensation?

should i re level with a repair self level, ? once dry

Any pipes run in the floor or wall there?
Any cold pipes that could drip condensation?

central heating pjpes, but thats not been on and its dry, the wal above skirting is dry it seems damp back were floor level is and at the back of skirting, may be wrong, ive dryed with a hair dryer, and seems to be coming back

This time of year, I'd have thought it's either rain getting in somewhere, assuming you've had rain, or a leaking pipe.
They used to bury pipes in the walls and floors. Eventually it rots the copper pipes.
There's water in the pipes to the rads all the time whether the heating is on or not.

Not saying it is definitely that mind you. But it's something to be aware of.

before central heating i took the pipes from the gas out and it was capped off, ive just felt pipes, bone dry, i dryed with a hair dryer, and its appering from the outside in, cheers

its dried inside, skirting is dry, its damp about 1 1-2inch under the skirting towards outside, can just get little finger in

Cavity wall I take it?
What pipework is in that area anywhere, a metre either side and vertically up to the roof, and in the roof space, including wastes, overflows or anything?

Is the ground built up above the DPC level outside?

Is there decking above the DPC level?

Is the roof sound in that area, any flashing slates or similar there.

It could be so many things, that the only real way to go about finding what it is, is to look to see what it possibly could be and eliminate that.
We can't see what the layout is really from a few photos so it's difficult to be specific.

TO give an extreme example, a friend had an old cottage. They picked the plaster off inside to expose the stonework, but hadn't pointed up.
There was water running through the wall!
Digging the level down outside and plastering up cured it.

Shouldn't happen with a modern house, but it goes to show what can happen.

no pipes a metre either side, were t shirt is nr damp, yes cavity wall, no pipe bar centfal heating inside
