Hi,
Redoing ground floor living room and all plaster above door frame was blown. Pulled out lots of old blown bits of plaster and cement.
Looking to cover over now ready for re-plastering. A lot of the plaster in the room is good so only looking to replace/repair as much as is essential.
Would it be better to knock out the remaining plaster to expose the lintel fully? Can I screw board directly into this lintel?
Would it be better to go with new sand and cement mix to create a front for bonding and subsequent finish coat?
Cheers

Plastering around door
Had a thought, would it be better perhaps to fill the gap with foam before either bonding/PB?

Firstly, make sure the frame is firmly fixed as the door slamming, causing frame movement will lead to the plaster to failing again. Foam is a good filler and you can plaster over jut ensure it is lower than teh existing surface so you can level it with plaster.
