I have moaned before about these , but will again.

1) I have a Festool midi in my little workshop, it works fine , but crikey the bags are expensive, I cut the bottom open and sandwich the joint between 2 bits of wood and reuse loads of times. Burnt a hole in the hose , wow what a price to , so will put up with shorter hose . Works well though and the auto function is good when say my mitre saw is plugged into it.

2) indoors I use an ancient Henry bit tatty about ten years old on second set of tools , serious suck.

3) doing some work for a friend at their friends cottage , they have a new Henry for any tradesmen to use. Made to the new regs it seriously won’t pull the skin of a rice pudding , waste of time trying to hoover shavings, the smallest bits just bung the pipes up.

4) Dyson DC8 of what ever it is cordless , complete pile of crap . Suck even on max is useless struggles with anything other than dust , wouldn’t even suck up some pepper corns this morning . Always washing the filter. The run time is terrible , just whizzed around the kitchen floor and half the longe this morning , didn’t do skirting tops , cobwebs or anything serious. So less than ten mins run time. Such poor design no swappable batteries or rapid charge , charge takes about 8 hours . This machine is 18 months old and not had much use , I usually defer to old Henry when I do the hoovering. But this morning was supposed to be a quick whizz . So Henry again even sucked out the ash in the wood burner sort of by accident . So this thing should be called an ELECTRIC DUSTER , NOT A VACUUM and it was some thing stupid like £399!

Off to write to Dyson Now !

Cheap and cheerful here - don't need bags and can pick up a bit of rubble no problem. £39.

The only problem I found with the cheaper ones Chop, is they tend to be noisy. I would have one in my workshop , but my Feestool was a 60th birthday pressie from the office where I worked

I use the old style Henry when using in my workshop coupled with the Eon master socket so no need for bluetooth. I really can't justify splashing out over £400 for a vacuum.

Dyson have their own reputation to keep i.e. the most popular vacuum device EVER ........seen at Council Refuse Collection Sites.

ive got a festool midi and festool ctl26 or whatevr.... they both get a lot of use. often ill set up my table saw with one and use the other with my mitre saw or track saw.

i bought zippable bags for my midi and ive been looking at the festool pre seperator

i also have a henry in my van.... its actually an edward. a bit taller than the henry... my mates son calls it henrys brother haha hes obsessed with hoovers. i rescued the edward out of a skip in newcastle. im pretty sure its knocking on 30 years old.

its a shame the newer henrys are not so good. i was gonna look at retiring edward off in favour of the newer smaller henry or hetty model. well basically the hetty, make a change to have a bit pink in the back of the van haha

but pinks a good colour. ive got a pink pen that i write with. got that of the lass that used to work at howdens..

got pink bibs for when me and the lads play football. pinks v yellows.

also chippo.... look on ebay ya can get zippable reusable bags about a tenner each. they last a while. certainly better than the propper festool bags like
