Watched it live - my first thought was 'he's a gonner' - seriously, how he got out of that is an effin' miracle. Kudos to all involved in his 'rescue' and to the designers of the car.
Don't take it personally......

I can't abide Sky so only get the highlights on C4, recorded.
I thought the same EOL event. I didn't realise that Grosjeans wife was in the pits watching the race...

He certainly came out looking better than Nikki Lauda.
Now they need to sort out why the crash barrier split and trapped the car.

One day it will all be firewood.

I 'borrow' my brothers Sky account just for the F1 on my tablet...... otherwise I do the highlights on C4 instead.
As sad and daft as it seems the accident will attract more viewers - there's a ghoul in everyone apparently - I must say F1 is (was) getting a bit tedious and predictable of late and the occasional big smash brings home how dangerous it can be.

Was horrific
Interesting fare bit of space there no tyre wall in front of the barriers to ease the Initial impact , although the kinetic energy involved is huge.
Big worry was the fuel tank rupturing
Didn’t seem to be any internal auto fire extinguisher going off
The carbon tub and halo certainly worked well

Lewis , said on Instagram I think , that they all know they are taking big risks when they get in the car after all 200moh plus with deceleration to zero in a short distance maybe less than a metre is going to result in huge g forces and destruction regardless of strength , can the human body even stand these forces ?

Interesting to note that they've put George Russell in for Nancy Hamilton for this weekends jaunt. Looking forward to seeing how a 'stranger' copes with his car if only to show that it's not 'just the car' that wins the races.
Mind you, if Russell wins.....!!! LOL.
So far this season we've seen a Merc win on three wheels so maybe 'anyone' could win a race in one????
