Damp on bedroom wall

Hi folks,

DIY newbie looking for a bit of help.

Some sort of dampness has started to appear on our bedroom wall. This is on the wall that faces out into the garden, just below the window.

I've tried to attach a picture. Does anyone know how I would go about trying to solve this problem? Is there something I could do, I get my DIY skills from my dad so don't have many of them, or should I get a professional round to look?

Can you post photos of the window ledge above the damp and a photo of the outside of the wall showing the window and window cill
and the wall itself?
