Took some pictures yesterday (as you do) went to share them with my Desktop I can not view them, my phone is saving pictures to .HEIC
It seems that HEIC is a format to save space. No idea why my phone changed but I went into camera settings and told it to default, pictures are now being saved as jpeg. Not a lot I can do with the others (still trying, but don't worry)
Just saying.

Would you hit a nail with a shoe because you don't have a hammer? of course not, then why work on anything electrical without a means of testing Click Here to buy a "tester" just because it works, does NOT mean it is safe.
If gloom had a voice, it would be me.

Heic is specific to Apple products and, if you have an Apple Mac, it is a simple case of exporting them from the Mac as JPG. If you have android or Windows based computing, then there are many converters online, some as apps, some direct online conversion. Just Google 'convert heic to jpg'. I just did one before writing this.

Thanks, but my phone is android, so I am totally bemused as to why it saved them as HEIC, I have found a file converter for free, but it only does 10 pictures before it wants money, but I have got enough now, but as I said, it's why my samsung decided to save as HEIC that I don't understand. One of lifes mysteries.

It could be that the camera app/firmware recently updated and changed the settings. I have had that happen on my android phone on some other apps. Annoying isn't it. I am currently on android 9, and there were 2 updates to the camera app/firmware in the last month or so. A few very recent phones have also gained android 11 which has some massive changes to the firmware and possibilities of hidden settings changes.
