How to fit a fuel tank to a Ryobi Extended length Chain saw.
The fuel tank is connected to the engine with two pipes and if they fail such as becoming disconnected to the fuel tank one is obliged to purchase a new fuel tank although its not expensive. The fuel tank is held in place with plastic protrusions either side but I found it impossible to push the fuel tank into the place where these protrusions are. Can anyone help?

I think you have to remove the black cover plate, about six screws. This will expose the crank case, there is not an issue doing this but keep it clean, the tank then slides off the studs and you can put the new one on. Replacing the cover then locks the tank in place.

Many thanks for the advice. I think that my technical advisor, my grandson did that but probably didn’t go far enough. We will look again.

I found this, I think it is the same engine as the small garden engines are similar. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pq-XI0MrhwE easy enough.
