How to stop wet rot

Post by batd »

I noticed wet rot on outdoor wooden window sills which must have missed last year.

I am planning to remove the rot and treat the sill with wood hardener but I understand that it is not recommended to do it now (March), because of high humidity and low temperatures and I should wait until early summer.

Can you please help me with advise on how to prevent it from getting worse. Shall I strip the paint and apply some wood treatment before applying the hardener and stain it in summer or can this make it worse? Is it ok to just leave it for a few months?
