Dewalt DWS773 - blade change

Post by Frenchy2021 »

:welcomeuhm:

Anyone ever changed a blade on this type of saw?

Tried watching tons of videos on blade changes but they’re all different models to the one I have, I’m struggling to work out how to get the blade into a locked position in order for me to undo the alan key bolt that’s holding the blade on, I’ve read the user manual a dozen times and there’s no clear explanation on blade changes....

Any ideas please?

I’ve had a look at the user manual and it looks like you need a spanner on the central nut to lock the blade and a Allen key to undo the bolt/nut to get the blade off.

Does this help

NOTE the screw works the otherway round, so to UNDO - turn clockwise
Should be a spindle Lock on the side of the motor - as show in the video

On My DWS778 - I have 2 Allen Keys supplied and I have to put 1 into the motor side of the Blade to Lock

Thanks both, that video posted is one I’ve previously watched but on my saw there’s no screws for me to release the guard

I didn’t think about using 2 Allen keys or a spanner to hold onto locking position, I’ll have another play with it and see how I get on

you should not have to release/remove the guard , mine you just Pull out of the way , same way as you use when sawing , and then continue to PUSH the cover up , the blade can then be wiggled out

On the manual here - https://www.manualslib.com/download/125 ... ws773.html
Page 6
It shows the Spanner & Allen Key - in
