Intergas or Viessmann combi?

I’m looking to replace my combi boiler with either the Intergas Xclusive 30 or the Viessmann Vitodens 100W (new version)
I’m running a Evohome system at the moment and would like to reuse this with opentherm on one of the above boilers.
Any thoughts on which would be the best boiler to get?
Price wise I think the Viessmann is going to be the cheaper option.

Are you looking to use the same person /company that fits it to service and maintain it? If so first check with that person / company too, some specialise in particular brands and you may find your fitter hasn't installed one or is used to maintaining them so may cost you more in the long run, or if you have a person / company in mind they may not want to install / maintain it and you will need to look for another fitter / maintainance company.

I have just had a Intergas fitter around a couple of minutes ago to price the job up. I would keep using the same fitter for the servicing etc.
I haven’t had any one around about a Viessmann, but would look at one of there recommended fitters.

It depends where the boiler is going. The Intergas makes a loud noise on start up - sounds like a spaceship taking off.

If its a noise sensitive area go for the Veissmann

Thanks Razor, it’s going in the airing cupboard next to my bedroom. It looks like the Viessmann might be the better option.

I still prefer the old Intergas range in many ways and the eco rf is much quieter but the modulation isn't really good enough for evilhome as the lowest is around 6kW (unless you do some tinkering to factory settings ) so I would probably go for the Veissmann

I got installed a Viessmann 100-W 35 kW (2021 version) in beginning May 2021, to replace a 15 year old Worcester greenstar CDI 35 . The Viessmann is working well with Evohome Opentherm ( I have 10 room opentherm zones , but only 1-4 zones tend to be in use)
This 100-W version (2021 , B1KF) allows setting maximum CH flow temperature (I set at 70 deg C) from installer menus , older version 100-Ws did not allow this when using opentherm.
modulation is good , rated as 10: 1 down to 3.2 kW , but the vicare app indicates it goes down to 8% ie 12.5 :1 .
I have range rated the boiler to 45% of the maximum burner output when on CH.


Likes:
a) turn down to 3.2 kW (excellent for opentherm with evohome)
b) Stainless steel heat exchanger on Viessmann . The intergas uses aluminium on condensate side , which for me is not great with low pH condensate (but regular servicing should remove corrosion products on intergas)
c) I like the vicare app , I can see if my boiler is firing and the boiler pressure remotely and when away from home , this is great as boiler is in loft, awkward to get to . I can also set the HW temperature set point with the VIcare app remotely .
d) it seems quiet , I have office below the boiler.
e) I have 10 year warranty on this (could have got 12 at extra cost, as I used a viessmann approved installer)



Negatives
a) New 100-W , No longer has clear easy tread pressure dial on boiler itself , but I can use the vicare app remotely for this so OK for me
b) Cannot switch off the "Eco mode" when using opentherm, which saves water but is small gas wastage for me (I am not water mains metered) , this minor neg issue for me and has counter benefit that the water temp is bit faster to the taps hot .
c) Mini expansion vessel of previous versions on cold water supply is now removed , but ok from me as i am not mains metered and do not have check valve , (easy to get mini expansion vessel installed any way) .

I was wondering if you could still use any of the Viessmann apps when you use Evohome. I will download the ViCare app when I get the boiler fitted
