I've got a feeling that if you turned one of them in the pic through 90°, it would look different, (maybe better).

Clarke Angle Grinder not working
A sad update:
Carbon brushes very slightly narrower. 1mm maybe. Thought I'd try them anyway, can always take them out, can't I?
Odd, although fraction smaller, very nearly impossible to insert. Tight fit. Turned on. Still not working.
Tried to take carbon brushes out but pulled the springs attached off. No way of getting carbon brushes out now.
Angle Grinder in bin. Thanks for help all.
P.S got a feeling it's the on off switch.

EBay do cheap ones with extra discs for £30. Wondering how long they last. But I'm a DIYer so tools do not get too much punishment.

Get a decent one. Shop around. If nothing else they're nicer to use.
I've got four, a little Makita that's years old and has done a lot of work.
A cheapy that I bought about 20 years ago, that was a tenner. Done lots of DIY work and came with a spare set of brushes.
A Parkside that was bought because it's 125mm rather than 115mm.
And a JCB that gets used most.
