Integrated Dishwasher with fixed panel underneath

Post by mara.demha »

I am looking for a like for like replacement for my 20 year old integrated dishwasher.

However, my setup might not be normal as I don't have a full height door attached to my current fully integrated unit.
The pictures attached might better show the current setup.

My other units have a door height of 76cm.
My current integrated dishwasher has a fixed door hinge, the door height is 68cm, there is also a fixed panel underneath (8cm) added to meet the bottom of the other units.
I also then have a kickboard (8cm)
Will I be able to get any new integrated dishwasher to fit?

I was thinking of getting MIELE G 5072 SCVi

Integrated Dishwasher with fixed panel underneath

There's a number of anomalies here but basically, your current dishwasher fits under the existing worksurface - what is the distance from the underside of that, to the floor?

Yes, we know the d/w door is 68cm, and the 8cm filler makes 76cm which is put there to line up with the adjacent door - how high is that off the floor. In a nutshell, the distance from the bottom of the 68cm d/w door to the floor should be around 15cm which is the standard height for kitchen unit plinth in the UK. Are you in UK?

Here we work to 15cm plinth, 72cm doors, 4cm worksurface giving a working height of 91cm, 87cm clearance. The Miele needs 87cm, I think your worktop is going to be a liitle too low and that's why you need to measure.

From the bottom of the door to the floor is 8cm.
The height from the floor to underside of worktop is 84.4cm
Yes I am in the UK, I had noticed my plinth/kickboard is shorter than most other kitchen I see.

On currys it show that the Miele is 81cm tall?
I thought I was ok regarding finding a unit to fit underneath the worktop as I saw many less than 84cm tall,
I was more concerned about finding another unit I can use, keeping the same door and 8cm filler.

I got my info from Miele website, you have to scroll down then click "Show All Technical Details, looking again now it actually says,

Niche Height Maximal 870mm
Niche Height Minimal 805mm

so it must have considerably adjustable feet. Currys never give all the information you want!

So you'd put the d/w in place, wind the feet up until it touches the worktop underside, fit existing door, then if necessary, modify your existing filler panel.

Your doors are deeper than normal, your plinth less.
