Changing Spotlight Bulb

Post by Andoco87 »

Hi all, I think missing something obvious here but I am trying to change a spotlight bulb. But I am unable to get to the bulb, I have removed the magnetic cover but there is no obvious catches or anything to get into the case around the bulb. The bulb edges are not visible so it's not one that just twist and it falls out. The pictures show it is as far as I can pull it down. I have tried twisting the bottom panel which turns but no more than a couple of mm's. Is anyone able to help?

Changing Spotlight Bulb

Post by Someone-Else »

It looks like a sealed unit, you have to change the whole thing, not just the lamp.
Should be easy to take down from the ceiling, like most ceiling lights it has two spring clips holding it up, you just press the clips in (or gently pull the whole fitting down) and down it comes.

Below is a light similar to yours, you can easily see the clips that are holding the light in the ceiling. When the light is pushed up, the sprung clips open and hold the light in place.

Above are my opinions Below is my signature.

Would you hit a nail with a shoe because you don't have a hammer? of course not, then why work on anything electrical without a means of testing Click Here to buy a "tester" just because it works, does NOT mean it is safe.

 If gloom had a voice, it would be me.

:idea1: Click Here for a video how to add/change pictures
