MK LOGIC RAPID FIX

Just been getting some stuff to fit a fused spur for an outside light to run from a double socket on a ring main when I saw the new rapid fix socket by MK. What a brilliant idea and ideal for me as I hate putting three wires in one fixing on standard sockets. Apologies to those that have already seen them.

Yeh came across these recently. Do they work like levered wago connectors?

They do. You also have to strip the cable 10mm, and they will fit in a 25mm back box.

£6 each at SF - not too bad, I was expecting them to be far more expensive.

Yes they are similar to Wago but with a stronger feeling return spring on the connectors. Just fitted it. Really easy to use.

Great S-E, shame it does not have outboard rocker switches and its not slim profile though doesn't look that thick and only 50p dearer than the earlier type # 29304.

Socket switches. Bane of my life. I set up a scaffold tower exactly where I want it. Places all needed tools, including electrical, and an extension lead, atop and to hand.

Clamber aboard then only to discover that the socket switch has been turned off. Grrrr

Edited to add that the missus, on reading the instructions for our current 15 year old toaster, noted that they included a directive that it should be switched off when not in use.

Who else would actually read the instructions for a toaster.

Whilst I have similar experiences as Grumps, my Fathers house 1966 had no switches, my Mother would always pull the tv plug out at night, remembering a local house struck by lightning. Now, due to the emphasis on saving energy, I do wall switch off my tv, sound system, and induction hob when not in use and just recently the stupid smart view hand set; since doing an energy supply switch and still being estimated and after complaining, then cheekily being asked to take a photo of my meters, after which they said they had done a health check and have them logged now!
Oh! and in-between the operator insisted the gas smart meter had its own electrical supply and I would not run the battery down by pressing the 'read button', what a joker, later he said he was new to the job, I sympathised but then why bother the customer before doing due diligence health check first.
Sorry should not rant on, subject is my dislike for mid rocker switches is having to slide a finger in-between plugs to turn off, made even worse by some convertor plugs I have.
