Hotpoint Oven - No Power

Post by 97browng »

Hi All,

About an hour ago I was cleaning my electric oven (Hotpoint Class 7 SI7 891 SP IX) and when I went to wipe the bulb cover the bulb went off and then so did the oven. The bulb was very hot (too hot to hold) and had only been on for a few minutes. Since then I have been unable to get the oven back on. I have ordered a new bulb for tomorrow and will test that but I assumed the oven would work if the bulb was removed (but it is not). I have tried the below, is there anything else I can check myself?

Removed the bulb
Check the house fuse box (nothing tripped)
Checked the fuse on the oven plug (it is just a standard UK 3 pin plug going into a normal single socket). I replaced with a know working 13a fuse.
Checked another wall socket

Thanks in advance
Gary

Hi.

Not a topic for the site.

You need to go to the UK Whitegoods forum.

https://www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/forums/f ... oven-forum

The site is both a Forum and a parts supplier (at competitive prices).

The two sites are not in competition. In fact, if you commence your question with the information that you have been directed there from UHM, then such may assist traffic to UHM.
