Hikoki c8fse mitre saw
Further to my other posts I ordered one of these today. Bit confused on the specs as ffx website contradicts itself.
One place it says the bevel capacity it 45 elsewhere it says -5 to 48 deg. I will definatley need more than 45, most of my external skirting mitres are cut at 46 or more. It also shows the mitre capacity at 45l 45r however images and hikoki website shows 48deg to the right, 45 left.

A biggie for me will be connecting the saw to my dewalt saw stand. I have the quick connector things which I can take off the bottom of my existing dewalt saw, however it appears the hikoki only has 2 holes in the base which won't necessarily suit my stand. Hmmm. Maybe it can be adapted or maybe there is a workaround. Anyone have any ideas? Cheers

Hikoki c8fse mitre saw
I had to screw the base of my Metabo saw onto a board and screw the quick release clamps on the other side in order for it to fit on my DeWalt stand. It states so in the instructions.
It adds extra weight obviously.
Maximum mitre angle 57 deg R | 45 deg L
Maximum bevel angle 5 deg R | 48 deg L
Obviously, the 5 deg R for bevel is a mistake on their website I hope)
What's with the word 'bevel' turning into a hyperlink? Posted it as plain text but still hyperlinks. Must be this site.

Hikoki c8fse mitre saw
I've come across this video on youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Iic5bwWKo2s Slightly different saw but looks the same bed. He has it connected to two bars like the dewalt stand, perhaps if done up tight enough 2 points of fixing is ok? Apparently the saw has 3 holes and a few amazon reviews say to fix a board underneath. Perhaps if 2 of the holes line up front to back then that will give a solid fixing to one clamp? This chap must've connected it somehow!

I have the C8FSE....
Left mitre, 45.
Right mitre, 57.
Not sure what the max bevels are when doing compound cuts, I didnt look at that.
Left Bevel, I have the quick stop screw set on mine at 45, but there is a few degrees past it to play with if the scre is adjusted.
Right bevel, 5 degrees on the scale, but again i have the stop set for 90 degrees. I imagine theres a few degrees there to play with.

Cheers hitch. How do you attach to a stand? Is it seriously only 3 holes? Could a 4th be drilled without interfering with the operation?

Hikoki c8fse mitre saw
Yes instead of a dual bevel mitre it does 48 one way and 5 the other so 53 deg of play with square being 90

Hikoki c8fse mitre saw
The saw has arrived. Hikoki technical got back to me pretty quickly this morning advising to just drill an extra hole in the universal stand mounting. Obviously they're not familiar with the dewalt stand set up.
So a few options I came up with. Uni strut was my first 21 mm deep run it perpendicular to the dewalt mounts and catch the 2 front holes in one length and 1 centre hole in back length. Seemed a good idea but the location of the back hole is out past the corners of the saw bed. So these feet would be floating. Would probably work but doesn't fill me with confidence on the stability of the saw.
Option 2 was ask someone for a sink offcut of those new solid surface kitchen worksurfaces like Fin has been fitting. 600 x 300. bolt saw to this then bolt dewalt legs to that.
Option 3, in all 4 corners there may not be a through hole but there are 4no. 10/9mm I.D holes in each corner which some rubber feet sit in. The front ones are pretty deep the back ones less so. Still probably 15mm. So I started searching for a rawl plug type fixing for metal. I came across these expanding rubber nuts
http://www.fixingsupplies.co.uk/m5-x-15 ... m-nut.html
I would be interested to see if I could insert one of these in each hole then tighten up the m5 bolt from below in the channel of the stand. I think I already had to tighten up a couple of the existing nuts from below in my dewalt saw set up. How tight do you think these rubber expandable bolts would grab the hole?
At worst the back holes could be extended right through the bed if I were to drill it out, the front ones not so.
Any thoughts appreciated.
