So the bulb went in the bathroom and I figured it'd be some sort of bulb but I've been met with this.
Any help much appreciated. I've found a few videos on youtube telling me how to change the various parts, but I don't know which piece it is that is defective.
thanks
The ring of LED's isn't totally dead, however it is giving off an incredibly low level of light. So I'm not really sure what needs to be replaced. Is it the 'LED Driver', or will it be the ring of LED lights that has gone?Which part of this LED light needs replacing?

Sadly, nor do we! It's a case of swapping one or the other out to see which is defective - unless you have the test equipment to make purposeful measurements.
Either way, spares or a test meter will likely cost as much time/trouble as replacing the whole unit.
One chance - if ALL the LEDs are of the same brightness then I'd go for a new driver module. Check - very, very closely - the individual LEDs and look for tiny black spots which indicate failure. If you see any then a new light is the only way to go as fitting individual LEDs is a pointless waste of time/money.

Thanks for the response! So theres maybe 15/20 LED's all of them are the exact same dim level of brightness except two which are out. Would that lead you down the path of just replacing the whole unit?kellys_eye wrote: ↑Tue Oct 19, 2021 12:54 pm Sadly, nor do we! The question should be:
How much is a new "LED Ring" and can you get one the same voltage
How much is new driver
How much is a complete light
My money is on the "light ring" but if I am wrong............. Change the whole light

Would you hit a nail with a shoe because you don't have a hammer? of course not, then why work on anything electrical without a means of testing Click Here to buy a "tester" just because it works, does NOT mean it is safe.
