Chop/Mitre Saw Variable speed

Have an Elu PS274 with Electronic Variable Speed control.

When would you use the variable speed on a mitre saw? :scratch:

i can only assume its for cutting non ferrous metals with an appropriate blade

i dont think high speed is a problem whilst cutting hardwoods like it is when routering :scratch:

speed control is for cutting different materials, plastics metals woods laminates and veneered boards

DD any ideas of the settings, say I have 1 to 6

I'm assuming wood is 6.

Laminate ?

Veneer Boards ?

I'm not asking for definitives just clues.

Generally high speeds for softer materials....e.g. wood, and low speeds for harder materials....e.g. metal.
