Choosing the right nail gun
Hi all, I am looking at investing in a cordless nail gun but i haven't got a clue what to get, I have looked on e-bay and they average about 250 pound for a dewalt, paslode & hitachi, which one is the best and cheapest to run? Cheers Taff

I'm not sure anyone can answer that because it's doubtfull if anyone has tried them all. Personaly, I have a paslode framing nailer and a couple of air driven ones-15g and 18g, and to be honest, it's difficult to say which is the cheapest to run, apart from the fact that the smaller the guage, the lower the running cost!

first decide what work you do most of and who you do it for
im a great believer in using industry standard nailers for ease of getting parts and nails
if its first fix work you want the nail gun, if you work for a contractor buy the paslode because thats the nails they supply. altough the hitachi uses the same gas and nails its not good for right handers and the hook isnt designed to go on your belt
if its second fix buy a 16 guage brad nailer, for yourself buy the paslode angled nailer, for a contractor buy the pslode straight nailer

paslodes all day long, aslong as you maintain them they are good nail guns. Ive read the dewalt 2nd fix gun is pretty good but i don't own any dewalt cordless so not worth me buying it.

taff my thaughts are go with the paslode, the paslode has a belt hook that can be adjusted for left hand use
the hitachi hook is not designed for a belt, its designed for hooking on american framing timber which is thinner than english sizes
