Hi all,
I've recently bought a 2nd generation toughsystem 2.0 4in 1 trolley and 3 boxes. They are the new ip65 rated cases. Everything brilliant apart from:
The 2.0 boxes DO NOT have the metal tab on the rear of the boxes so they can be locked to the trolley using the metal bar/padlock combination on the rear of the trolley.
I work on site, so having the ability to lock the boxes independently and also to the trolley is a must.
My 1st generation box which had nail guns in it has the tab.
I have spoken to the supplier who says " we've been selling these for 2 years and never heard of this problem, all 2.0 boxes DONT HAVE THE TAB".
Now, I've been on DeWalt UK website and the supplier website and they both reference the fact that the boxes can be locked to the trolley. (The trolley still does have the integrated bar and padlock eye for doing so!)
Has anyone else come across this? I was wondering if there is suitable metalwork that I could buy and affix to rear of box with security screws?
The system is great for me now as I need to be mobile and don't have a license for another 5 months. Still need to get to site so a mobile lockable tool chest is necessary.
TIA.

DeWalt 4in1 mobile tool trolley/storage boxes

I googled them.
The 2.0 version, all the boxes seem to have a hole/eyelet in the front, could you not put studding through it, with a welded nut at the bottom, and a padlock through it at the top.
Personally I wouldn't leave them on their own, since the boxes are plastic.

Would you hit a nail with a shoe because you don't have a hammer? of course not, then why work on anything electrical without a means of testing Click Here to buy a "tester" just because it works, does NOT mean it is safe.
