I am really fed up with the number of "Happy new year" messages I have received, my problem is it is still 2021, would you celebrate valentines on the 13th Feb course not.
Above are my opinions Below is my signature.

Would you hit a nail with a shoe because you don't have a hammer? of course not, then why work on anything electrical without a means of testing Click Here to buy a "tester" just because it works, does NOT mean it is safe.

Well seeing as this is the grumpy corner my thoughts. We stayed in last night except for our teenage daughter who went to a friend which did mean I was on the alcohol free beer as I had to pick her up which to be fair I didn't mind. My sister in law , her partner and her brother's seven year old daughter came over and there wasn't five seconds peace between shouting and screaming. The lights were going on and off so many times that at one point I flipped the breaker. When the fireworks came onthe tv the girl wanted a drink with just a few seconds to midnight and started squwarking under the table when we refused and asked her to wait a few minutes. I was glad to leave the din to pick up my own.
On the subject of the tv , maybe it's because I'm getting older but it seemed worse this year. Even with subtitles it was impossible to watch anything properly so the choice was down to a couple of "best of" music shows. Jools Holland seems to be getting worse . His show used to be enjoyable but in the recent years the music has been getting less and less to my liking. The fireworks were , well , fireworks although the drones were a decent addition. Still on the positive side it's stopped raining ...

We did not go out through choice, I have had more shite new year bashes than good over the years. I think the worst was a dinner dance we went to that was an awful flat night, it was almost like you were forced to go through the motions. Mrs D used to hate any strangers trying to slobber a new years kiss and buggered off to the loo for 10 minutes. I think that by New Year you are so jaded from it all that you just are not in the mood.

We were watching The Ricardo's on Prime, a very good docudrama about Lucille Ball and Desi Arnez. I paused at midnight and flicked to see what was happening and realised the Citizen Khan had cancelled the fireworks so we went straight back to the film. I momentarily caught that c**t Jools Hootenany b*llocks for a nanosecond. Why do we have to have Scottish shite for new year? I remember that boring w*nker Andy Stewart bore arsing me as a kid.

No, New Year is a duffer.

Well it does not sound like you were invaded by Scottish drinkers avoiding the ban? As I thought more speculative fake news.

Just been to a meet for a local hunt. Not doing an actual hunt but just a meet. Advertised for 11 got there 11, baby out and in pram over there for ten past. All packed up and done. Waste of a few hours of my life. Sent them a message asking why it was advertised for 11!?

Seems to be quite a common occurrence in your particular circle fin - remind me to avoid the Westoe pub next time I'm in town!

errrrrr... not jab-related by any chance?

And another thing, when I got back home the sil had left me a glass of preseco to "toast" the new year in. Why is it so popular , awful stuff , I ended up putting a bit of cordial into it to make it palatable.

Well I just happen to be in an Asian country where very few in the locality speak any English; their partying started 29thDec (not Christian either) and all day drinking into the wee hours, so by NY eve evening they are mostly hungover, and I had saved myself for partying, however they are the politest folk and as I am older than their eldest I got VIP treatment. Every village main road has local council appointed vigilante band at a X road check point, who stop any driver (mostly Honda Dream type bikes) and check for drunkenness, if they are too far gone they walk and leave the vehicle or if they cause a ruck-ass they have a temporary lock up shed; their added duty is to make sure masks are worn. Luckily we partied al fresco and so hope Mr Covid did not visit.
I thanked K-E for the Stay at Home link, Tv here, even if it is a western film is professionally dubbed and subtitles are in local language too which makes no sense, unless you are a deaf local.
