Stud finder recommendations

I need to buy a stud finder, but ideally one that detects cables, pipes etc. Can no anyone recommend any? Ideally under £40.

Regrettably, they are all useless, save your money. You cannot trust them to find anything with 100% accuracy which defeats the purpose. Have a look at this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h1adPjsah5w

Under £40 then don't bother. Buy some neodymium magnets instead. There's a tutorial in the video section about this.
