I have a sneaking suspicion that the suppliers may also start charging solar PV grid-tied systems MORE when they take from the grid too. The days of such systems being entirely to the benefit of the installer/user are fast becoming dodgy...
Our supplier has no idea we have Solar as we aren't getting any feed in tariff - so no worries here

It would be robbery if they did try and charge more to people who have solar

Robbery doesn't seem to faze them - those using so-called 'economy 7' have a loaded price during the day just because they help the energy companies out by using (essentially) 'wasted' energy at night.

I'd like to see a different energy policy. Everyone should be assessed for a 'basic necessity' energy demand and then be allowed to have that 'at cost' - anything used over and above that basic requirement to be charged on a sliding scale of additional expense (punitive if necessary). It would give everyone an even chance at life and discourage waste (therefore CO2) so I don't know how the vested interests could complain!
Don't take it personally......
