I had a £200 job last week painting someone's garden fence. I had to abandon the first day as the wind picked up so I returned last Friday. The neighbours complained the spray was getting onto their pebbles. It wasn't I think they were just being pricks. It was a closed fence on both sides and I was using a dust sheet hung over the other side of the fence just to be sure and left the top 6" so I could do that with a brush. I told the customer I couldn't be bothered by the hassle and left.
Yesterday I had a job lined up but the customer called me just as I arrived at her house telling me she had a bug and had to cancel. This morning I had a job set up, halfway up to the job I got a message telling me basically the same thing that she had a bug and had to cancel.
I've used half a tank of diesel and haven't had any jobs yet! I'm beginning to think now someone is taking the p*ss.
Unbelievable!

Unbelievable!
had a reet one recently. mostly i work in south shields. recently done jobs slightly further affield in gateshead. spent a lot of time here there and everywhere . heads been battered. had a kitchen company getting me to put right work done by other fitters. ended up where the woman whos house it was wanted me back and nobody else ha.
i guess they probably need to look at their fitters prices as they must be too low forcing the fitters to rush everything.

Is it fitters rushing because they don’t have time OR rushing because they not held accountable for carp work ?

They need to start incentivising no or minimal snags. Ie pay a bonus if no snags picked up.
