The only one I liked was the re-vamp "Little less conversation".

I'm converting to Aerosmith and Ozzy!

Gadget, about the same year as me then, all I can find for Aug 1947 is Smoke! Smoke! Smoke! (That cigarette) by Tex Williams.

I say to all the young ones, I may be old but I haven't got as long left to work as you have, and my mortgage is sorted.

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman, "Where's the self-help section?"
She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Difficult to discover a top of the chart for August 8th 1946, but Route 66 by Nat King Cole looks to be close.
I started out with nothing, I still have most of it.

I was born in 1941, suppose it must have been something by Vera Lynne or Flannagan & Allan - anybody any ideas?

The charts didn't start till 1952 - the first #1 was Here In My Heart by Al Martino. It got to #1 on November 14 and was there for 9 weeks!
