I do understand how daunting it would be to alter the soil.

You could always get a couple of oak chopping boards for £20 or so each and join them or try to find one the correct size.

Thanks for all the replies

As i mentioned in previous post we are now doing in softwood and painting black
Got the wood yesterday - so now going to make a template of the bottom of the pan
I was recommended a router bit, and speaking to the guys they said, get a cheap hot glue gun to hold the template on, I had seen that on you tube
I got a cheap Bosch gun from screwfix yesterday and ordered this bit as recommended https://www.wealdentool.com/acatalog/On ... 5B_2d1_2f2 coming on Monday

Now I need to make the frame and template, bit its 27C already in the garden in shade !!!!!!! - so the garage will probably be well into the 30's

plinth now cut - and just needs rubbing down, will use some PVA to seal - probably 1:1 , and then some sort of paint the other half wants to use and covers anything apparently, she has some antherite which matches the tiles - not going to argue .....
WIP
but thought i would post

Glue gun worked really well to take the 6mm plywood
Router bit was excellent - very easy to do and cut - cut most of the access off with a circular saw

Will post again when its all finished
