Car GB plate

I have just noticed that GB has been dropped as a country identifier on cars and now cars are required to have a UK sticker instead. I thought at first it was some woke pandering to dropping Great Britain and it is in a way as apparently it was done to appease the Northern Irish. FFS when is this stupidity going to end.

its far more inclusive than great britain and northern ireland
would you be pleased if "and england" was needed to say there was a connection ??

I can't think of anything I care less about to be honest, it's a bit of plastic screwed to your vehicle to identify it. Who cares what it says

My plates on my S2000 have no national identity marks , as especially the front plate has been reduced to the legal minimum size and minimum border size.

UK probably makes a lot more sense to foreigners than GB.

I guess it does not matter a jot as most folk will never take their car abroad. In the past, I had a stick on GB plate for the duration of my travel abroad. I would not want to drive on the left now as I find it too hard to switch these days, we do not even hire a car on holiday now quite apart from the rip-off fiddling car hire firms.

I think it's just a money-making exercise by the people who make these plates because I don't think it's a legal requirement but may be when driving abroad.
