Hi guys
I've observed a crack in forming in the lining paper beneath the painted surface (which was only painted about a year and a half ago).
Short of replastering, would anyone be kind enough to provide step-by-step instructions to perhaps fill the crack
I'm a true novice at this, so grateful for any replies that treat me as such!
I did come across a similar thread from 2014 (https://www.ultimatehandyman.co.uk/foru ... hp?t=72160), but the instructions didn't seem clear (OP had some experience I think), and I don't think there was consensus.
Thanks!

Filling a cracks in lining paper
Opinion: I think upagumtree had good advice much as fitzy. Whatever, don't use "Wilko hang in there wallpaper repair adhesive" in my experience water and flour would stick better!
I have similar cracks in my walls and used the clean, fill and emulsion method, after about 2 years they started to appear again, as did not use scrim or liner paper.
Your 1st pic shows a regular rectangular shape, this is not a crack but an in fill of sorts (old vent).

Regarding the thing that you spotted might be a vent - any idea how you'd deal with this?
