dewalt power stack

whats the craic with this stuff?

i need a new drill. ive got one battery drill that doesnt auto stop and today the other drill started being a complete bell end. drill bash drill bash drill bash.... thats me hitting the thing to make it work. think it needs new brushes but it makes a horrrendous noise anyway so i think its got a knackered bearing on the motor too.

plus one drill has a knackered chuck also.

so i guess its time i had a new drill.

most of my battery gear is dewalt also

As you seem to be into the Delt, then a replacement Dewalt

As i understand it the New Dewalt Batteries Stack are just smaller with more power - never used
As a DIYer, not so fussed about the size, weight and power output for smaller profile batteries

I can see how that maybe useful for trade using all day long

Quite a few comparisons on youtube for performance between the powerstack and the normal battery

do you have any 54v batteries ???
if so just get a dcd 999 1200w
or a dcd996 900w with normal battery
powerstack =double price batteries the basic battery is a 1.7ah or 2ah

na no 54v stuff yet.

ive tried that 996 drill ( thats the three speed one isnt it? ) could not get away with it.

weird that i prefer my older drills to the newer bigger type.

yea im trade. although i gotta admit i find that my tool use is spread about a bit. i dont often use a tool flat oot all day. certainly not to push them to their limits. occasionally a drill will get a tad hot. thats about it. maybe an sds drill if ive got a tile floor to lift up. or a sander if theres a lot of stuff to sand back.

aye had one of those 3 speed plug in battery type drills. someone nicked it out my van the dicks.

yea ive deffo used the 996 wasnt a fan of it.

ive just remembered ive got a brushless 2 speed dewalt drill in my lock box. but it basically got abandoned in there coz the chuck kept loosening off which was canny annoying like

Interesting on the 3 speed drill
I was planning on getting one just as a diyer
Played at an FFX show
But it was very heavy
And got an sds instead
Which has proved the best choice I made
And my cheap Dewalt cordless drill is still going strong

as a joiner i find the sds drill and the 2 speed combi go well together. although the combi never gets used on hammer. thats a waste of time ha

Now i only use the Bosch multipurpose Bits , never need hammer any more and get a much better accurate hole
