Boiler whirring

Post by Andi_gerdvahank »

Morning all,
I know this is going to be dependant on SO manyvthings, but I just need an answer so to speak.
We havecan old boiler, Valliant ecoMax 824E, and it started making a whirring noise that goes high in pitch as the boiler starts up and then it slows down but is still present.
Can anyone advise if it is still safe to use over the weekend until I can book an engineer?

Thanks in advance,
Andi

Boiler whirring

:welcomeuhm: No expert and nobody is going to give a thumbs up But the sound is very much like the fan, either it is on the way out or is so dirty. Fans are usually protected by the 3Amp fuse and the fan speed is monitored and if wrong should bring up a fault code and shut the boiler from working. Fans are not a DIY item.

I did some investigating and it seems that it is part of the burner that is making the whirring noises.
Still need to know if it is safe to use.
Thanks
