Noise from Indirect Expansion Unvented Storage Cylinder

Post by iainh »

Hi all,

Looking for some guidance on noise from an unvented cylinder. Due to the water mains pressure being a bit low we went down this route so I'm not sure what to expect noise wise as it's not a system type I'm familiar with.

Hoping someone can advise if this is a 'normal' amount of noise. I couldn't find the detail on Google and the manufacturers data doesn't appear to cover it.

Thanks

Noise from Indirect Expansion Unvented Storage Cylinder

If that's during cylinder reheat it sounds like coil resonance caused by too much flow going through the heating coil. Sometimes you need to add a lockshield valve across the flow and return before the cylinder to alter the flow rate
I think I'll take two chickens...
