Interior Sliding Kitchen Door

Post by kath »

Hi

I have moved into my new home and at the moment it looks like a building site. I am having to rip the whole place to pieces.

The original kitchen door was fixed at the top by a sliding mechanism. I had someone in to fix the dry rot and he had to take the door off. I thought at that point I was going to have a proper door hung so he went ahead and just ripped the door out thus badly damaging the mechanism.

I have had a good look at the room which is very very small and have decided that afterall a sliding door is a much better option.

I have looked at the B&Q and Wickes site but they don't seem to sell sliding doors. Can you please tell me if they are just ordinary interior doors but instead of hanging them by hinges, do I just need to buy the correct fitting at the top or do I actually have to buy a specially adapted sliding door?

Thanks for any help

You can get the sliding door tracks from B&Q or Wickes, and use any internal door with them!

Thanks to all of you. This site is great especially for people like me who honestly haven't got a clue with things like this.

Thanks again
