Worcester greenstar keep shutting down
Hello want to pick the brains of heating engineers on here.
Got a Worcester bosch greenstar 30si combi boiler about 12 years old. Not had a single problem with it in 12 years.
Until this week. It keeps shutting down no hot water and no hot rads. Go to the boiler to find orange reset button flashing and blue oval light flashing.
I press the reset button and the boiler tries to reset but sometimes it doesn't and a 2nd time pressing reset will work and the boiler goes back to full function. but 2/3 hours later it shuts again and i have to go through the reset process again.
I've checked the condenser pipe and looks OK. I drained the condenser trap which was a bit grey but that's all clear now. The boiler pressure is fine between 1 and 1.5bars
Any ideas what the problem would be so I know what to expect when I find a plumber to come out.
Thanks

Not wishing to be pedantic, but you want a heating engineer, NOT a plumber, they are different. Also I would suggest when you ring round, ask are they familiar with your boiler, and when they get there, show them what happens, (Make a video now while it doesn't work) never tell a tradesman what you think is wrong, that really upsets us. (I am NOT a plumber or heating engineer, nothing worse than being told how to do your job)KSProperty wrote: ↑Sun Mar 12, 2023 6:53 pmAny ideas what the problem would be so I know what to expect when I find a plumber to come out

Would you hit a nail with a shoe because you don't have a hammer? of course not, then why work on anything electrical without a means of testing Click Here to buy a "tester" just because it works, does NOT mean it is safe.

Your need to see what the flashing means. There is a list in your manual as to whether it’s mostly on but flashing off or mostly off but flashing on etc.
Most installers are familiar with WB boilers

In that case you will need a decent registered gas bod. It's not going to be DIYable. Armed with the info from the light they will sort it out pretty quicklyKSProperty wrote: ↑Mon Mar 13, 2023 5:08 pm Thanks for replies.
