Toilet Seat fixing
Hello everyone,
This is my first post and I guess quite an embarrassing one. I am useless with household DIY and fixing but I'm great with technology so hopefully I can contribute in my stronger areas.
So.. i need to fix a toilet seat
I have 3 different toilets in my house and all the fixings are bloody different. Has anyone seen a fixing like this and have an idea on what to buy or how to repair?.. I cant get to the back or sides so im pretty clueless.
Thanks in advance and nice to meet everyone..

Toilet Seat fixing
I would say that seat looks like one we have. Its not a top fixing one, but it looks like there are some bolts missing. TTL_Dee have you any other things (Nuts and bolts) that belong with the seat?
If not you could try these Click me Or buy a whole new seat with compatible fixings

Above are my opinions Below is my signature.
Would you hit a nail with a shoe because you don't have a hammer? of course not, then why work on anything electrical without a means of testing Click Here to buy a "tester" just because it works, does NOT mean it is safe.
If gloom had a voice, it would be me.

No, by all accounts it looks as if my cleaner has accidentally done something and the fastening bolt has fallen through... is my guess. noone in my house is taking the blame :)..Someone-Else wrote: ↑Tue Jun 13, 2023 9:42 pm I would say that seat looks like one we have. Im pretty sure it must be a top fixing one as there is no access to the sides or back... all closed off

Are the release buttons on the outside edge of the hinge? That silver sleeve looks like it slides to allow the pin free.

Toilet Seat fixing
Hi everyone.
Thanks for the pointers. really helped. Since I have now fixed its probably a good idea to update.
The silver caps you see in the picture needed to be slid off of with a screwdriver to release the seat. Ive never seen one like this before so hopefully that may help someone.
Then I bought some universal top toilet seat fixings from tool station
God knows where the old fixings had gone. I'll have to ask my cleaner!.. anyway side the caps off the toilet seat holders and screw into position... used a makeshift washer as the universal screw heads were a bit small
Job done :)
