I thought the fact he wanted cash was a red flag.

Would you recommend looking elsewhere?

Yes, sounds like a chancer, not worth the risk.No money up front if reputable. No doubt he would ask for more money to finish and hold you to ransom possibly.

Thanks. I was surprised that he was able to come round to do the tiling tomorrow given that I only contacted him and sent him the photos yesterday afternoon.

Yes, it sounds too suss. There are loads of people like that, think how you would feel if he messes it up, you would have wished you had done it yourself. Keep looking is my take. Perhaps DIY is not looking so daunting now

His business card was one of several that I was given by Topps Tiles when I collected the wall tiles for the kitchen.

I assumed that they would only give out cards for tilers they knew and trusted but that was probably naive of me!

The tiler was thinking of doing the tiling tomorrow and the grouting over the weekend but I won't be available.

5th pic, where the filling is on a diagonal. Maybe the cable has been removed no way of knowing from here...

I can't remember exactly because the first fix was done in November.

I've attached a more recent photo.

The words 'Fill me' are where the socket for the old fridge freezer used to be.

The new fridge freezer can be moved further to the left because the new units are shorter on that side of the kitchen.

The socket you see in the photo will be behind the new fridge freezer.

I've found a video I took after the first fix was done and have attached a still from it that shows the diagonal part.

It looks like the cable was removed.
