I use a badaptor for my Ryobi nailer using a DeWalt battery. It was a much cheaper option seeing as I'm already on the DeWalt battery platform.

Manufacturers are getting wise and its in the air that batteries and tools will communicate before they work so assuming not yet fitted its probably time to stock up on tools and batteries that dont talk to each other
having said that i suspect many tools and batteries will already have a chip fitted that can be remotely updated
