David Beckham documentary

I have been enjoying the Netflix documentary on David Beckham. I did not realise he suffered so much abuse for being sent off in the 1998 World Cup against Argentina. Apparently, fans blamed him for losing the game when in fact it was Paul Ince and David Batty who lost the game during the penalty shootout as they both had their penalty kicks saved. I just do not get it? Do watch the documentary if you have Netflix.
