Sink clips

Sink clips
I cut out my sink in the worktop today but found it impossible to use the sink clips so I just siliconed it in. Is there another way to secure it instead of using the clips?

the cheaper sinks the clips are an utter waste of time. absolutely rubbish.
occasionally ive fitted sinks and the clips actually work very well.
if its a cheaper sink i basically use silicone and weight it down over night with the offcut from the cut out and then tools on top.
even if its a quality sink i still weight it down and use the clips
